Sound engineers use machinery and equipment for the recording, mixing and reproduction of sounds.  Skilled audio engineers are proficient with different types of recording media, such as analog tape, digital multi-track recorders and workstations, and computer knowledge. With the advent of the digital age, it is becoming more and more important for the audio engineer to be versed in the understanding of software and hardware integration from synchronization to analog to digital transfers.

Film and video editors are responsible for the quality and distinctive technical elements of a soundtrack, film, or video. They work with agencies or production companies in the motion picture, cable, and broadcast television industries.

Digital media professionals are essential in developing and producing finished videos, commercials and audio tracks.  They make sure that the final product is what the consumer or client needs to meet their goals.
