Advertising Display Art
Click Here for Closed Captioning. The commercial art and graphic design industry is made up of businesses selling artwork for business and promotional purposes, rather than aesthetic purposes. Artwork is produced using many types of techniques, including hand painting, computer-aided design software and video cameras. Commercial art and graphic design can be found on posters, packages, films and television.
The structure of the commercial art industry is made up of individual freelance artists, advertising agencies and design departments at corporations.
If you enjoy being creative and putting together messages and visual elements to tell a story, or sell a product, a career in advertising or display art (graphic design) could be for you.
This Center of Excellence program is for juniors and seniors who want to prepare for entry-level employment in the commercial art industry or prepare for a college commercial art program.
